Class Structure

There are five classes at Horspath Church of England Primary School.

Twenty children are usually admitted to Acorn Class, our reception class. Typically, there are thirty children in each of our other four classes, which means that they include children from two year groups.

• Beech Class includes all the children in Year 1 and the younger children in Year 2
• Lime Class includes the older children in Year 2 and all the children in Year 3
• Oak Class includes all the children in Year 4 and the younger children in Year 5
• Willow Class includes the older children in Year 5 and all the children in Year 6

Our curriculum is carefully designed on a three year cycle so that children do not repeat work. We ensure that new knowledge and skills build on what has been taught before and become the foundation for future learning.
